Monroe Falcons Hockey Coaching Staff
  Head Coach, Jerry Minter

 Head Coach Jerry Minter enters his sixteenth season behind the bench for the Monroe Township High School (MTHS) Falcons Ice Hockey Team. He has served as the team's Head Coach since the program's inception in 2005-2006. During his tenure, he has led the Falcons to an overall record of 147-136-21, Greater Middlesex Conference (GMC) Championship in 2018, GMC Final appearances in 2017 and 2020, Semi-Final appearances in 2011, 2012, 2015, 2016, 2019, and 2021 GMC Quarterfinal appearance in 2013, and New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) Quarterfinal appearance in 2018 and NJSIAA Playoff appearances in 2008, 2011, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2020. Coach earned his 100th victory in a 6-4 victory over Southern Regional on January 18, 2017. He was named the 2014 and 2017 GMC Ice Hockey Coach of the Year. Coach Minter has enjoyed watching the program continually grow since its birth. His goals for this season are individual player development, overall team & program building and qualifying for the GMC and NJSIAA Playoffs.

Prior to serving as the Falcons Ice Hockey Head Coach, Coach Minter was a forward for four seasons at West Virginia University (WVU), ACHA Division I. During his four seasons at WVU, he was a two-time ACHA Academic All-American, three-time WVU Scholar Athlete and member of the 1999-2000 team that qualified for the National Championship Tournament in Minot, North Dakota. Following his playing career at WVU, he served as the team's graduate assistant coach for two seasons where he focused on individual player development and team strategy. He was the recipient of the 2003 Keith E. Inskeep Award for Dedication and Service to the West Virginia University Mountaineer Hockey program. In September 2010, Coach Minter was inducted into the West Virginia University Mountaineer Hockey Hall of Fame for his commitment, performance and service provided to the hockey program. Coach Minter played the majority of his youth hockey out of Brick, Toms River and Wall for various local and travel clubs.

Coach Minter graduated Cum Laude from WVU in 2003 with a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics and Master Degree in Secondary Education. He is currently a Teacher of Mathematics and Computer Science at Monroe Township High School. He also serves as the school's Weight Room monitor (Spring Season). During the summer, he teaches Mathematics at The Peddie School.

Outside of teaching and coaching for MTHS, Coach Minter also coaches youth hockey for the Jersey Penguins.
  Assistant Coach, Jared Carrier

 Assistant Coach Jared Carrier joins the Falcons for his first season.

Coach Carrier began skating at the age of 4 and played his youth hockey (Squirt to Midget and High School) in Michigan. He continues to remain actively involved in Men's League. Prior to joining the Falcons Coach was an Assistant Coach at Saint Rose.

Coach Carrier is a Guidance Counselor at Monroe Township High School.
  Volunteer Assistant Coach, Tom Donovan

 Assistant Coach Tom Donovan is entering his twelfth season behind the bench with the Monroe Falcons Ice Hockey Team. Coach Donovan has moved to a volunteer position for the 2020-2021 season.

Coach Donovan played Junior hockey in New Jersey for the Monmouth Hawks organization. His dreams of making the NHL were shattered during his second year of Junior hockey, when he suffered a severely bruised ego during a game versus the Yugoslavian Junior National team. He subsequently became a player/coach of the Trenton State College Ice Hockey Club from 1988-1990.

Coach Donovan is a Special Education teacher at Monroe Township High School, and, is also a Professor at Rutgers University.

He has a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, and a Masters degree in Special Education. Dr. Donovan graduated Magna Cum Laude, with a bachelors degrees in History and Communications from The College of New Jersey.
